Combine Harvester

A combine harvester is the most advance and modern way of collecting rice, sorghum, sunflower or large grains such as corn, soybeans and pulse crops from the field.

As the name suggests "combine" it is a multipurpose machine and complete the job reaping, threshing, and winnowing in a single pass.

If we look into the history of combine machine then it was made by Hiram Moore in 1836 also and re-built and listed the first kind of combine harvester in the United States. This version of the combine machine was pushed through the field with the help of farm horses. In this version of combine machine uses 20 horses to harvest 50 acres of crops.

In 1882, Australian Hugh Victor McKay designed a similar idea and created the first industrial combine harvester called the Sunshine Harvester. But the best variant of combine harvester First self-propelled combine harvester union of the vapour engine was acquired by the George Stockton Berry. And since the Combine harvesters are using a shape with the new advanced technologies.

Features of Combine Harvester

The combine harvester consists of condensing unit, threshing unit and brushing and grain treatment units. The cutting part covers the reel, cutter bar, an auger and a feeder conveyor. Division section has threshing cylinder, concave and cylinder beater. The cleaning section essentially consists of walker, chaffer sieve, grain collection pan. The grain treatment section consists of a grain conveyor and a discharge auger. The crop after being cut is remitted to the cylinder and concave arrangement through feeder conveyor where it is threshed and the grains and straw is distributed in different sections. After completing all these actions the fine product can be shortly primed into the tractor-trolley.

Use of Combine Harvester
